Paris is currently going through an identity crisis. Which, I believe, has been going on for a number of years. And it’s that maybe Paris isn’t as amazing as we have been brainwashed to think.
I can hear the chorus of screams now. NO. WHAT. IT CANNOT BE *faints*. But, seriously though, Paris can be just lovely but it really depends on the circumstances. And you know where Paris is always really lovely? Movies. Films. You can rely on films set in Paris to gift you the same quaint streets, landscapes and emotions every time.
Granted, not every film set in Paris is an urban fairytale. Some show a very different side of Paris and a number of these films are not only phenomenal, they’re important to balance out the myth.
And some aren’t that great… But just because it’s got under 30% on Rotten Tomatoes, doesn’t mean it’s not the perfect guilty pleasure.
Here are many, many films set in Paris that will make you laugh, cry, get angry… and most importantly, excited about a trip there! And as for a definitive list on all films set in Paris, you probably won’t find a better place on the internet.

The Ultimate Guide to Paris Filming Locations

Midnight in Paris, have watched three times, a beautiful film!
I love the film too, Pat! 😀
I visited some of the locations used in Cléo de 5 à 7, last year. Thanks for your list, I will make use of it as further prep for my additional visits. I also searched out some of the ‘Frantic’ and SATC locations too.
Aw, thanks Charlotte! This list is a few years old, it desperately needs updating haha but I’m glad you liked it! Ahh I loved checking out the SATC locations, I wrote a guide all about them: https://almostginger.com/sex-and-the-city-paris-locations/
