UK Travel Bucket List

It’s no secret that I want to see more of the world. This hopefully means living abroad for a while. However, I do know that the rest of 2017 will be spent continuing to live and work in the UK. I’ll be saving money, getting fit, working on my blog and hobbies and seeing friends and family. Generally, all the things you can’t do when you’re constantly travelling. So what better way to spend 2017 than focusing on UK travel and making sure I actually see and do all of the things that I’ve always been meaning to?! Sure, there will be some beautiful and iconic places that I will have missed, but this is my list of places I really don’t want to miss.

Scotland

If I had yet to see Glasgow or Edinburgh, they would be firmly on this list, but luckily I’ve been to Scotland’s top cities. Looking at all the places I want to visit, a week long road trip would be ideal to hit them all because they’re coincidentally close together.

Fabulous ideas for 2016! You’ve reminded me that there are so many places I want to visit in the UK…hopefully 2016 will be our year 😀 Portmeirion looks particularly appealing. I’ve heard so many good things about it over the years! x

Yes! Definitely our year! 🙂 I think I’ve got a good balance of mainly day trips and then a few overnight trips, that’s what will make it more doable. Oh it does, I’m hoping for good weather so I can actually pretend I’m in Italy! X

Great ideas Rebecca, good luck! And if you make it down south for Stone Henge (and especially Durdle Door) give me a shout, they’re not too far away.

As someone who lived in Merseryside before going to uni and having visited Formby Beach a few times I cannot recommend highly enough that you go when it’s not raining. Firstly, only a small part of it is the beach, most of it is a sand dune and, speaking from experience, it’s not pleasant walking on a sand dune in the rain. I’d also recommend you go in Autumn rather than Summer as you have a better chance of seeing the red squirrel population at that time.
