Review: Adorably affordable Cheerz Polaroid Prints

Earlier this year, I headed to #BlogAtTheBeach with IceLolly.com. Being the lovely lot they are, they gave us bloggers some free gifts. One of which was a voucher for a free box of 30 Polaroids from Cheerz, a company that allows you to print your beautiful memories onto retro-sized images to stick up on your fridge and let the good times last forever!

Cheerz!

You can pretty much order anything you can print on from Cheerz. They have fridge magnets, photo albums, posters, the works! The voucher I had was for the classic 30 print Cheerz box and I ordered it in a slightly different way to normal…

The ultra-modern, 21st century way Cheerz gets you to choose your photographs is through an app on your phone. You can download images straight from your Instagram, Facebook, phone gallery or anywhere else they might be stored on your phone. This isn’t just for the Cheerz box, the app offers everything the website does!

The box is pretty cute too!

The App

The app is free and these are the links to the app on App Store and Google Play. I’m sure if you just type ‘Cheerz’ into the search it will probably be one of the first suggestions.

It’s soooo user-friendly and once you’ve made your selections, you see a mock up of what your entire product will look like. For the polaroids especially, the image will have to be cropped to fit the product (you instababes know what I’m talking about here) so you want to make sure you’re still happy before you proceed.

The Photos

The quality is fantastic! They arrived exactly how I expected them, and in pristine condition in a super cute box. I would definitely recommend choosing photographs without too many filters. You want photos that are as crisp and clear as possible so you get your money’s worth. They might look a grainy on a high quality print as opposed to just viewing on your phone.

I also love the option to add text at the bottom of the polaroid rather than having to scrawl on it myself.

How does Cheerz compare?

If it’s all about the money, money, money for you, a box of 30 polaroid sized prints is about £13 and delivery for this product is £3 (delivery prices for different products vary). If you’re needing a box sharpish, then it will take 4-6 working days no matter what you order.

Polaroid cameras may not be out of your budget since you have products like the Fujifilm instax camera series. They might set you back £60-£70, but that’s a one off purchase. The film is what’s going to make your eyes water. Just having a quick look on Amazon, 20 shoots on the Instax Mini will cost £14 plus delivery. This means buying the film is just as much as buying a box of 30 polaroids from Cheerz. And you get 30 with Cheerz!

If you were taking the pictures yourself, then of course you’re going to get them a hec of a lot sooner than 4-6 days. But then you’re not guaranteed on quality as it will print every picture you take, not just the best of the best. And if you want to carry around a whole other camera as well as your usual one, then that’s your call.

Personally, I wouldn’t mind using a polaroid camera for some trips. I find the idea of it quite fun and because I love photography I wouldn’t mind the cost of the camera or lugging it around on a few trips as well as my DSLR. However, Cheerz is definitely a more cost effective option for getting the end product.

The verdict?

I ordered mine with the idea of popping some in a letter to my family and some to my friends, and it went down a treat! My mum loved them and mentioned that she’d find little frames for them. But they aren’t a formal photograph that needs to be framed, so I convinced her to put them on her kitchen cupboard door along with postcards and invitations.

They are little pieces of fun memories for you to smile at when you open the fridge door, or on your bedroom wall they are the first thing you see when you wake up in the morning. Why don’t you get a box with the intention of sending them to loved ones? From my experience, I’m sure they will adore them. In this digitised world, there’s nothing sweeter than physically sending a little token of your love to loved ones.
