I’m sure any Londoners will be reading this with an inner chuckle in their head. Of course London in summer is beautiful, who doesn’t know this?! But those of us who don’t live in London have images of smoggy air, no greenery and grey skyscrapers at every turn. To us, going to London for a summer break would be the craziest idea.
And that would be dead wrong, London in summer is almost as good as London at Christmas. Provided the weather is what you would expect of summer (which, let’s face it, is likely not to happen) then it’s a great place to make the most of the weather. Here are some snaps from my more recent trip there that I think highlight why it’s so great.
London in Summer
The blue skies stretch across the river Thames and all of those famous landmarks that you can spot as you stroll along the bank.
Even the London Eye looks breathtaking from all angles when accompanied with a big blue backdrop:
And for some reason frozen yoghurt seems to be everywhere?!
Not forgetting being able to enjoy eating and drinking outside…
And you know the green spaces London doesn’t have? Of course it has them, lots of them.
You’ll suddenly find every flower beautiful and must take a picture of the happiness it embodies.
Obviously, one of my favourite things to do in London in summer are the hundreds of outdoor cinema experiences to choose from.
The hoards of people at Convent Garden Market don’t seem to bother you as much…
In fact, it’s quite nice to see people out and about enjoying what little good weather we get here.
Because you and I both know it won’t last long, so we need to make the most of it while we can.
Have you ever visited London in summer? Did you have a good experience with it?
