I made a visit to Granada because of my workaway trip, about an hour outside of the city itself.
Tell a lie, I was there twice. The first time was just for 15 hours overnight so I’m gonna say that doesn’t count as visiting Granada.
The second time was for two full days and three nights so a teeny bit more substantial. I found Granada a very colourful and sunny city, which is obvs ’cause it was early September. London has always had very picturesque old buildings but they sometimes seem too grey for my taste. Granada’s city streets sported houses of many colours, very ornate and every window seemed to have an obligatory Juliet balcony.
In terms of street art, the artist known as El Nino is the top dog. His work features in my display below, but Granada isn’t really a city to go for tonnes of new street art. It’s an old city with lots of history and that’s its main focus.
The Alhambra is what most people see when they visit Granada. It’s a huge, Nasrid Muslim Fortress and I have included some pictures of there at the end of the post. It’s beautiful, but I much preferred the generic average Joe streets of Granada.
And let’s face it, their average is pretty good. Have a look below…
