Camp America: My time at Camp Ballibay 2012 In Pictures

I didn’t take many pictures while I was at Camp, but I think’s just proof of how busy I was having fun. Taking part in the Camp America program at Camp Ballibay as a Theatre Director and camp counsellor was one of the best times of my life hands down. No photos, videos or stories in the world would be able to convey what I achieved and got out of this summer. As I naive 19 year old, there’s a lot of things I would have done differently. But, that’s the beauty of hindsight, right?

Camp Ballibay is located high up in the mountains of North eastern Pennsylvania. The mornings and evenings were cold but it could get super hot during the day, which sometimes meant awesome thunderstorms. The camp had a garden where we grew vegetables to eat and we could camp out under the thousands and thousands of stars above us. It was truly the simple life.

These are all the pictures I took actually on camp grounds. Please have a look through my photographs from my jaunts around the Pennsylvania and New York State area on my days off. After camp, me and a fellow counsellor spent a week travelling up to Niagara Falls and catching as MANY shows as possible in NYC.

It all started on Friday June 15th at Heathrow airport, I haven’t forgotten that date yet…

Spending a summer doing Camp America at Camp Ballibay was possibly the best decision I ever made

That’s it! I’ve not shown you very many photos but let’s be honest, these aren’t that great quality. Think of it as a sneak peak if you ever wanted to know more about the Camp America program. Please ask me anything you like, I LOVE talking about camp!

Have you ever been a camp counsellor? Do you have any awesome camp stories?

Like I said earlier in the post, I have also written about my days off at camp and the week I spent in New York after camp. From my time in New York I wrote an extensive weekend itinerary in New York for film fans.

Also, I wrote a post on my average day in the life of a camp counsellor and a list of films set on American Summer Camps for that all important pre-trip inspiration!
